Job Summary
Are you passionate about turning ideas into compelling narratives? Do you thrive on collaboration and enjoy crafting standout proposals with a team? Equans is seeking an experienced Bid Writer to join our Business Development team. In this role, you’ll work closely with Account Executives and Managers, playing a key part in shaping winning bids and supporting strategic pursuits.
Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate the development of RFQ/RFP responses, working closely with Bid Managers, Account Executives, Subject Matter Experts, and partners.
- Translate proposal strategies into clear, impactful narratives and layouts, including visual elements and graphics.
- Analyze bid requirements, synthesize technical content, and ensure compliance with all submission criteria.
- Write, edit, and proofread technical and marketing content to align with corporate messaging and client expectations.
- Conduct research on relevant projects and develop tailored case studies to strengthen proposals.
- Collaborate with internal and international colleagues to gather information and develop integrated solutions.
- Contribute to the tender library and internal systems related to pursuits and promotional activity.
- Support the Business Development team with presentations, marketing materials, and strategic communications.
- Capture and share lessons learned from each pursuit to improve future submissions.
- Participate in industry events and professional networks to stay informed and represent Equans.
- Perform any other related duties required by the position or requested by the immediate manager.
Requirements / Qualifications
- Authorized to work in Canada.
- Ability to pass all background checks and security screenings.
- Training or experience in proposal writing or any pertinent education background.
- 3-5 years of solid experience in writing bids.
- Experience in facility management.
- Ability to understand technical writing and communication.
- Excellent writing (including grammar, style, spelling, punctuation), editing, and proofreading skills for accuracy and quality.
Skills
- Strong Communication: Excellent writing, editing, and visual storytelling skills; able to craft clear, persuasive proposals.
- Proposal Development: Proven experience managing RFQ/RFP responses, coordinating with cross-functional teams, and ensuring compliance.
- Project Management: Skilled in prioritizing tasks, meeting deadlines, and managing multiple pursuits in a fast-paced environment.
- Collaboration: Team-oriented with the ability to work across departments and geographies.
- Detail-Oriented & Analytical: Strong attention to detail with the ability to synthesize complex information.
- Creative & Tech-Savvy: Proficient in MS Office and Adobe Creative Suite (especially InDesign); capable of producing visually engaging content.
- Adaptable & Strategic: Quick learner with a flexible mindset and a focus on continuous improvement and client-centered solutions.
